Nottage's
Welcome
In the year 1901, Guglielmo Marconi came to Crookhaven to set up a radio station from where he planned to send the first radio messages across the Atlantic. One of his team was a young engineer called Arthur Nottage who fell in love with the place and a local woman and decided to make the village his home.
Arthur, known affectionately as “Daddy”, ran the station on Brow Head till it closed in the 1920s after which he bought a cosy pub in the village where he would entertain local children with science-based tricks like making a ‘penny’ slide into an empty lemonade bottle.

We welcome him to Crookhaven!

In the winter, a cosy fire and peaceful atmosphere make it a haven for locals.
Drinks, Fine Dining & Weddings
The charming pub is a favourite watering hole for visitors in the summer. It now belongs to the O’Sullivans who also run the adjoining restaurant.
It’s wise to book during the high season as it’s a popular venue with its gorgeous views overlooking the harbour.
Nottages can also be hired for birthday parties, weddings and other special occasions.
In the summer months, O’Sullivans have partnered up with Manning’s Food Emporium to provide tasty wood-fired pizzas.
