One day options are available on Saturdays and there is a built-in discount, the more days attended.

Youngsters have to be at least seven years old although younger children, aged five or six, can be accommodated in shorter lessons where a parent or guardian gets into the water with them.

Wetsuits and boards are provided and kids get to keep their assigned wetsuit for the whole week.

There are two time options for classes – either mid-morning or mid-afternoon.  The camp is closed on Sundays although group bookings for that day are accepted.\

Andrew has been running the camp for 15 years and all his instructors are qualified and insured.  The camp has a Beach Guard Certificate  (Level 1 or 2 Instructor qualification) and has been vetted by Garda Siochana.  All instructors have to complete a Child Safety Course.

The great thing about the camps is that they’re not weather-dependent.  Rain, hail or shine, surfers are out there in the waves

of Barley Cove.  Lessons are only cancelled if conditions are genuinely unsafe, such as high seas or strong winds.
