Colin's Chipper
Welcome
There’s one in Goleen and one on the quay at Crookhaven, open in the summer months. The ‘mother ship’ in Goleen, run by Colin Moynihan, produces wonderful fresh fish and chips in stylish boxes and a range of quarter pounder burgers, chicken and sauces. Colin is considering adding a ready meal like curry to his offerings.
The Crookhaven Chipper is more geared to children and young people, especially the Sailing Club crowd, with a range of hot dogs, chicken and chips. It’s smaller and doesn’t serve fish but its chicken, hot dogs and burgers are delicious and the perfect end to a day on the water.
Although you can order your meal from the Goleen chipper, you have to queue on the quay at Crookhaven. Even the likes of actor Saoirse Ronan has been spotted queuing up when she stayed in the village.
Goleen Chipper opens at the end of March till October. Crookhaven is only open July and August.
Drinks, food & live music
In the winter, a cosy fire and peaceful atmosphere make it a haven for locals.
In the heart of Crookhaven
The Crookhaven Inn serves both lunch and dinner, making it a popular spot for casual meals or more leisurely dining. In the summer, it often hosts live music, adding a lively soundtrack to the experience and creating a vibrant, convivial atmosphere. The early summer evenings are particularly charming, with the combination of hearty food, friendly service, and stunning harbor views capturing the very essence of West Cork hospitality.
Whether you’re stopping in for a meal after exploring the harbor, enjoying a drink while watching the boats, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the Crookhaven Inn offers a quintessential taste of Irish coastal life.
